About URLBattle
A leaderboard with twenty-five slots, a new game every week, and no way on except playing.
What this is
URLBattle is a public board of 25 websites. The only way onto it is to play this week's game and score higher than whichever site currently sits in last place. Beat it and your URL takes the spot; the site you displaced drops off.
There is nothing else to it. No upvotes to farm, no accounts to create, no launch-day favours to call in, no waiting for a moderator. You either beat the score or you don't, and the board updates the moment you do.
Every Sunday, everything resets
A brand-new game ships every Sunday, and the leaderboard is wiped completely when it does. All 25 slots reopen and everybody starts from nothing — last week's champion has no more claim on a spot than someone arriving for the first time.
That is deliberate. A board that never resets eventually belongs to whoever got there earliest and had the most time to grind. Wiping it weekly means the only thing that carries over is whether you show up.
Why a spot here is worth having
Thousands of people compete every day to get on this list. That is the whole point — a spot is valuable precisely because so many people are trying to take it from you, and because there are only twenty-five of them to go around.
- Scarcity is the product. Twenty-five slots, not a directory with ten thousand entries and a search box nobody uses. Being on this page means something because almost nobody is.
- You earn it, you don't beg for it. No asking your network for upvotes, no reciprocal-support group chats, no gaming a ranking algorithm. Skill and persistence are the only inputs.
- A fresh shot every week. Miss out this week and there is a new game and an empty board on Sunday. Nobody is ever locked out by having arrived late — and nobody is safe, which is what keeps people coming back to the board and keeps eyes on the sites listed on it.
- Every listing is a real link. Your URL and a one-line description of what you do, sitting in front of an audience of founders, marketers and builders who came here to compete.
About Manan Pandya
I'm Manan — I build URLBattle and the weekly games behind it.
[FILL IN: a line or two on your background — what you normally build, what you're working on, anything that gives readers a reason to trust you.]
The games and this site are written from scratch and run entirely in your browser — no frameworks, no analytics, no tracking scripts, and nothing to sign up for. Each game is a few thousand lines of WebGL and physics; the board is a single page. I built it because the usual way to get a new site noticed is to ask people for favours, and I wanted to find out what happens if you have to earn the attention instead. Shipping a new one every Sunday keeps the board honest and gives me an excuse to build a lot of small games.
